school’s out for the summer
So school is finally over, the grads are graduated, and the moving out is complete. I have one more night in my dorm room, and then its goodbye to Oakwood forever. The nostalgic in me wants to conjure some sadness over leaving a place I will never be able to visit again, but truly I will not miss living in Oakwood dormitory. Upon its imminent destruction in August, I will stop by and smile.
As I have finished classes and finals, I realize that I need to slow things down. So that is how I plan to approach the summer. Taking it easy, realizing that I cannot possibly do everything, I will travel Europe, live and work in Haiti, and return to Harrisonburg for a new school year. I hope to take everything in slowly, breathing deeply and fully of my experiences.
Tonight I went with Kari Martin to see Switchfoot in concert in Charlottesville, VA. It was so much more than I expected, Switchfoot is so much more powerful in concert than on CD. Here are some pictures/videos. We were far away and used a point-and-shoot, so the pictures are blurry/pixelated.
- John Forman, lead singer for Switchfoot, 20 feet away in the back of the crowd
- John Forman pumps mic stand and mic in air during “Meant to Live”
- Switchfoot in concert in Charllotesville, VA
Here’s to a great summer!
Cheers
Mark Andrew
